 Entrance Exam

There is no study guide or practice test for our entrance exam.
The exam will consist of two sections, one dealing with vocabulary and word skills and the other will be general questions about the person as an individual. While a candidate may prepare for the vocabulary much like they would an SAT exam (i.e. studying words and their synonyms and antonyms) the other section isn't measuring anything that can be studied for. The candidate's response will be based on their own past experiences and personality.

Please note all applicants including Lateral and Pre-Service must successfully pass our entrance exam prior to moving on in the hiring process.

Physical Agility Test

The Physical Agility Test (PAT) consists of two portions designed to measure strength and endurance.  Candidates will only be allowed to take the PAT twice, so it is advised that you are physically prepared when scheduling for the test.  The PAT will consist of the following:

Strength
Sit-ups: 60 seconds to do as many as possible
Push-ups: 60 seconds to do as many as possible

Endurance
Mile and a half run: 16 minutes and 30 seconds or faster.  Any stopping or walking during the course of the run will result in a disqualification.

Scoring:  All candidates will be scored and all scores will be ranked.  Candidates with the highest scores will be asked to proceed in the hiring process.
